Our Mission

Lost Nopales Productions advocates for social change by creating ensemble-made, multi-disciplinary performances that uplift and unite underrepresented communities throughout Northwest Arkansas.

Our Values

  • We provide a safe space that allows artists who are BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and/or people with disabilities to speak up.

  • We are continually adapting and connecting with the current issues of our community, and center our work around speaking up for social change.

  • We encourage growth in artists at every stage of their creative journey.

  • We make our art accessible and affordable, most especially for those members of our community with limited resources.

  • We establish and strengthen connections with our network of supporters to help us continue to move our mission forward.

  • LNP (Formerly LatinX Theatre Project) was started in 2017. A group of teenage artists wanted a safe space to explore performance arts through a BIPOC lens. Throughout the years, we have grown from a project to an organization focused on deeper values and a uniting mission.

  • “Nopales” comes from the Nahuatl word for cactus. Lost Nopales represents the migration of Latine/os from cacti prominent areas to Northwest Arkansas. We are “lost nopales” but have found community amongst the Ozarks.

    The name also holds significance with our style of work. Our art is a mix of POVs from 1st, 2nd, and 3rd generation Latine/os. We are disconnected from our traditional roots, but grow new ones.

  • We have been wanting to change our name for a long time. Our former title, “LatinX Theatre Project”, was not created by the members of the project. This transition offered a chance to change it.
